Sparkles Christmas challenge week 4

Hello Friends!!! I hope your Christmas was all you wanted it to be. I have not stamped anything until Tuesday the 29th. I just havent been in the stamping mood, I have been enjoying my family and time off. Heres a little recap, if your interested :)

My birthday was a smashing HIT, if you recall I am a Christmas eve baby and sometimes my birthday is not much fun. Everything closes early, the malls are usually a zoo and people are busy finishing up last minute preperations. Parties and get togethers are not always possible, me living 45 min away from family doent help, I can forget a concert. Anyway I spent the day in the mall (it was super mellow) doing some last minute shopping and lots of ME shopping. The husband came along and paitently waited while I shopped and tried on clothes. We stopped for lunch at a small cafe, more shopping then a birthday drink/appetizer, and then a FABULOUS dinner with the husband and kiddos. I know it doesnt sound out of this world but thats as good as it gets on Christmas Eve and I felt like a star all day!!!

Christmas was really really nice, good food and time with my families. I have many stops on Christmas day, and I enjoyed it all!! Well that all flew by and here we are at New Years Eve. Whatcha up to? Were lighting the fireplace, ordering in yummy Thai food and having a movie night! Does it really get any better than that?

I have another 10 days off and hope to get crafty. Come back tomorrow to check out the NEW CTMH Spring catalog, more art and my 2010 goals.

Take a self portrait today...the last day of 2009. If your feeling extra creative, you can take some notes to do a little self refection layout too

Today I have created my 1st Christmas card for 2010. You see Sparkle does a weekly challenge( each sunday)to create a christmas card for 2010. You can even win a prize for entering a card on the 1st sunday of the month. If you challenge yourself to at least 2 cards each Sunday at the end of the year you will have 92 cards to send out by the second Sunday in December. Sparkle did this last year and was well prepared with her cards. I am on board, who wouldnt want to create with their fun Christmas images all year. Iam excited, I will be pulling out old and new images!!!

The challenge this past Sunday was to be inspired by this super YUMMY image ;)

This super cute image is from Stampington & Co, purchased way back in 1998.

I put glitter on the blade of his skates, small snowflakes, and I made border of glitter around the edges of white cardstock. I used my Prismacolor pencils, baby oil and blending stumps to color the image. I didnt use prisma glitter as you can tell, because I am out (its on the UPS truck as we speak) and it really doesnt give it the WOW effect. No worries I will add the prisma when it arrives.

Okay I have rambled enough, what ever your doing tonight be SAFE and have FUN. See u in 2010

At least one embellishment
Glitter

Can you see my embossing? This is big for me because I hate to emboss, even though the effect is beautiful :) I call myself a lazy stamper because I hate to do the technique. I also pulled out my exacto knife to cut out all the little holes. Used my new EK punch for the large embossed scallop.

Its looking like Christmas around here!

Its been a few days, had some swaps to finish up and get in the mail. I didnt open my laptop for two days over the weekend. Sometimes you just have to stay away to get things done. Well at least I do, I finished decorating the house, and did some house cleaning. Sunday after church I stopped at Michaels as I do almost every Sunday on the way home and purchased a new 5" tree for my family room. Its so cute, its prelit and it was only $30 and some new ribbon and ornaments. I think every few years its nice to add some new goodies, Dont you? Oh yeah 3 new candles in seasonal scents, YUM. Its looking like Christmas around here :)

Cant believe Christmas is next week, unbelievable. I havent bought one gift, I guess this weekend is the weekend.

I just wanted to say hello to a sweet friend that I found out is reading my blog HI SHARIE W. !!!! You know I never told my freinds and family about my blog, didnt think they would read. I finally put blog addie in my newsletter and Sharie told me in a email that she has been following along. I am just tickled pink!!

Okay check out my card, isnt he just too cute? Found him at Michaels and check out that cute, cute argyle cuttlebug template. Its my new favorite, its perfect for this card!!

It feels like snow

It is so stinkin COLD here, 32 degrees to be exact. We were expecting a huge storm from Alaska. There was word of snow here in the desert, it snowed on our mountains BUT not on our houses. Now with wind blowing off the snow covered mountains its FREEZING here. I dont like the cold, I stay bundled under gloves, scarves and hats. I always keep my heater on under my desk at work and home. Leslie, Helen and Sheila your stamp sets were mailed out last night!!!! Enjoy !!

Well in keeping with the season and the weather heres a snowflake card :)

Its cold outside

It really is, scarve, beenie and gloves cold. I kept my heater on under my desk all day long at one point I placed it on a chair so the heat would be closer. Oh my am I glad its Friday, this week has been rough getting up and going to work.

So wednesday I called a driving school to get info on signing my kiddos up and the lady tells me there having a craft boutique at the driving school for the next three days and she rattles off several vendors and ask me if I sold anything and I said YES. I told her I sold Close to my Heart and she says "I luv CTMH and I need a consultant"," my best friend and I have several sets and we need to order new things". Well hello I am your girl!! Well last night I set up my table and met her and her best friend and 2 other ladies. They oohh and aahhdd over everything. They want to have a party so does another lady and they even want to set up monthly crops and have me present a project!!! They told me I was now a part of there family ( how sweet) Tonight is the last night and I cant wait to meet more fun new friends!! These ladies are FABULOUS, I felt welcome and luved!!

Okay here is another OCC challenge

How fun this one was. I used textured cardstock on the white scalloped strip, the green scalloped circles and the pink backgroung piece. I inked the edges of the pink and green pieces. I stamped the gloves and beenie and added some glitter to make them pop.Speaking of popping, I popped the white scallop strip and the white scalloped circles.Cute, Cute, Cute!

I have this luv hate relationship with prisma glitter, its stunning but darn it sticks to everything and I bling for days!
